Our history

Simple Gifts was conceived of by a small group of Unitarians in 2011 and opened in May 2012 in an under-used Unitarian church.

Although Simple Gifts has moved away from its core of Unitarian volunteers and has become led by the community itself, the Unitarian values of dignity, equality and compassion are still at the centre of what we do.

Our mission

Simple Gifts is committed to building and maintaining bonds of community. We believe that social action exists in the everyday connections between people, in acts of care and love.

We aim to create a space that alleviates the struggles and stresses of life, that combats isolation and loneliness and that empowers people to be themselves.
